From May 1, 2022, Sportways will operate as NIOA in New Zealand.
+-Why is this taking place?
NIOA in New Zealand was formed following the sale of 100 per cent of the Sportways business to NIOA.
+-Who is NIOA?
Established in regional Queensland in 1973, NIOA is a family-owned business that has grown to become Australia’s largest supplier of firearms, optics, ammunition and accessories to the Australian shooter. In Australia, NIOA represents more than 50 international suppliers and many more world-renowned shooting industry companies. Additionally, NIOA is a Prime Contractor to the Australian Defence Force, and the largest supplier of non-guided munitions. NIOA has an existing New Zealand connection as a key supplier to the New Zealand Defence Force and New Zealand Police.
+-What will this mean for Sportways employees?
All current Sportways staff have been offered employment.
+-What will this mean for Sportways customers?
NIOA will bring a significantly enhanced product range to customers in New Zealand, combining Sportways’ relationships with suppliers of rifles, pistols, shotguns, ammunition, outdoor gear and accessories with NIOA’s existing global relationships and partnerships as Australia’s largest distributor.
+-What will this mean for customer orders, accounts and billing processes?
Invoices and statements from Sportways Distributors should be settled with Sportways. Invoices and statements from NIOA in New Zealand should be settled with NIOA. All customer open and back orders have been transferred to the new company. Customers will receive a new credit application under the new company name for completion and return.
+-Where will the NIOA office be located in New Zealand?
The office will continue to be located at the existing Sportways premises in Auckland.
